Bad hair days are not uncommon, however when they become prolonged, you simply have to take a look at the health of your hair. There are some very easy yet effective ways to give tender protection and the long awaited nourishment to your hair.

These hair masks can be prepared from the ingredients that you commonly store in your kitchen, making them inexpensive and practical.

Egg and Yogurt  Mask

This is the easiest mask and would give immediate result in the texture of your hair.

Beat one egg in a bowl till it becomes frothy, now add ¼ cup yogurt to it and beat slowly. The concoction would become a little watery. Now message this into clean, damp hair. Cover with a shower cap or hot wet towel. Wash off in cold water using mild shampoo.

There would be no smell in your hair. But if you find little discomfort with the left over odour, you could spray perfume behind your ears to ward off any bad smell.

Basic Banana Mask

Banana mask would nourish your hair making it so silky that you would want to repeat it often, well the suggestion would be to use it once in a fortnight.

Mash a banana in a bowl. Add equal amounts of honey and milk to make 1/4th of a cup, mix well and add this mixture to the bowl, also add five to six table spoons of coconut oil and mix well. Apply even on your scalp and hair and massage for 15 minutes. Leave it on properly covered for 30 minutes and wash with a mild shampoo.

Fenugreek Aloe Mask

Using this mask would make your hair really soft as feather. Try it and you would feel the difference.

Take a leaf of Aloe Vera plant and slit it so that the leaf opens into two parts. Now fill the middle portion with fenugreek seeds, tie the leaf with a thread and leave it for a day for the seeds to sprout.

Grind these seeds to a fine paste and apply thoroughly on your hair and scalp. Leave it one for 30 to 45 minutes, and wash it off.  The mask itself would froth, so you would not even need to use shampoo.

You can also soak the seed in beer and then grind it, this mask too give a good shine to your hair.

Oatmeal Milk Mask

Grind one table spoon of oats to a fine powder, add one table spoon of milk and one table spoon of coconut or olive oil to it and make it into a thick paste. Apply this to dry hair and message for five minutes. Leave it on for another 25 minutes and wash off using mild shampoo.
