    Thanks a lot for the nomination Vijima. Viswamitra's contribution to value education is singular in our forum. There is a lot to be gleaned from his write ups. How far we are able to apply them to our own lives may be different, but am sure we could all benefit if we did.

    Dear Amica,

    Thanks for the nominations. I enjoyed reading the post about home-schooling. It is a topic I am really interested in and always wish it could be done in India too. The question then comes up, is there any system in place to assess the ability of the parents to home school? Also I have never heard of home schooling in India to date. Hope there will be some opportunity for this sooner than later.

    As for Rihana's response, I agree with you. Such issues are as she puts it 'a ghar ghar ki kahani' and there are no simple solutions. All one can do is that the elderly see reason and act wisely so as to prevent their offspring from quarreling over money and property when they are no more.

    I wish to nominate @Greenbay's Travails Of A Would-be Father.

    I sense a lot of positivity and inspiration in this thread especially when he wrote about his mother and also his (and his wife's) struggles through the period of pregnancy and child-rearing. They have done a commendable job of it.

    Thanks a million for bringing this thread. It was such a pleasure to read this thread by Greenbay. Truly parenting has been a shared experience from the word 'go'. I just wish there are many more such dads in the world who stand by their wives through every step of the struggle.
