We need to save our planet earth!!

Hi Ladies,
I know we all are very much hardworking at home and office.
We are taking good care of our house ...
But what are we contributing to save our planet earth?
What are your thoughts?
What steps are you taking towards saving our planet?
So please ladies, educate yourself and try to contribute as possible to save our planet.

To start with I try to do minimum things from my side:

Turn off lights.

Turn off other electric things, like TVs, stereos, and radios when not in use.

Use rechargable batteries.

Do things manually instead of electrically, like open cans by hand.

Use fans instead of air conditioners.

In winter, wear a sweater instead of turning up your thermostat.

Insulate your home so you won't be cold in winter.

Use less hot water.

Use solar energy to heat water, outside lights etc.

Whenever possible, use a bus or subway, or ride your bike or walk.

Try to buy organic fruits and vegetables if you're concerned about pesticides. (Organic food is grown without man-made fertilizers and/or pesticides).

Don't waste products made from forest materials.

Use recycled paper and/or recycle it. Reuse old papers.

Don't buy products that may have been made at the expense of the rainforest.

Support products that are harvested from the rainforest but have not cut down trees to get it.

Plant trees, espessially if you have cut one down. I teach the same thing to my kids.

Buy products with little or no packaging.

REDUCE, REUSE, & RECYCLE.

Compost.

Buy recycled products.

At work:
if I am the last person to leave, turn off all the lights.
Minimise the use of paper cups by having my own porcelain mug.
Encourage others to recycle printing paper by using the other blank side.
conciontously throw waste in their destined receptacles.
turn off my pc end of day every day.

at home:
use only organic fertilisers for lawn and garden
use timers for irrigation
compost the grass clippings
religiously recycle paper plastic and glass
use motion sensors and timers for outside lighting
replaced all light bulbs with the new carbon friendly ones (what are they called??)

It is really heart wrenching to see so much individual awareness and effort to be environmentally friendly when the big businesses merrily go about business as usual attitude and pollute the earth.

Though we can do these responsible small tasks, we are contributing much more to earth's deteriotion. Yet, this is a good start to think of how we can make a difference. Like the American native Indians, we must always think of the furure generations everytime we contribute to natural destructions...

Hi Friends,

It's a good post everyone can save planet Earth as we wish ,from my side in my home i will switch all the un necessary lights . i will ask my little daughter to pour water to all the plants , so that she can know the value of the tree. how trees & plants are usefull to us . By seeing this post i am very happy i think this disscusion is useful to every one it will change our living system also .
