for cleaning silver items we use the water in which potato is boiled. dip the silver items in this water in which a little mild detergent is added. keep this aside for 5 mts and then clean with a toothbrush. them rub with vibhuthi(sacred ash) and wipe with a clean dry cloth.

Saikripa, Pitambari powder is for cleaning brass items right? Can we use the same for Silver too? I use the regular paste and vibhuti to clean the silver articles.

    hi

    My suggestions here..

    1. If there is any function then i will use is Pitambari solution
    2. Normal wash (old vibudhi's) / Tamarind / detergent soap / ash powder

Lalitha, Pitambari solution is avialble for cleaning silver. I think it costs Rs.60.
