    Dear All,

    Any idea whether the African tulip tree (Rudra palash )is a water guzzler? does its roots damage compound walls?

    Sindhu,

    it was so interesting reading up all the information on this lovely tree. Other than the fact that it is very resilient, I did not read anything about it being a water guzzler. Also this fact about it is interesting
    It does take over other species and tend to establish itself. However since the tree grows that big, it may not be a great idea to have it close to buildings - I believe 60ft tree with a 40ft wide crown! I sure will be looking out to spot this tree!
