Those of you who have stained wood vent hoods - any regrets? They look awesome but I’m wondering how to get the Haldi oil stains out of stained wood vent hood covers. Is painting with high gloss paint a better option?. A friend told me getting the stainless steel vent hood is the better option. I just replaced the stainless steel vent hood with wood, so I’m not going to tell DH that the stainless steel vent hood is easier to clean :grimacing:. I didn’t think about the oil that I clean from the vent weekly when I embarked on replacing the metallic hood cover!

If you use wood stain, finish up with a coating of polyurethane, it will give a nice water resistant finish and you can clean easily

Thank you! This was the info I needed. I’m going to ask the painters to do it.
