Pillow Maintanance

HI,

We have many pillows at home. these are the new pillows available now a days the light and soft ones. though I have a problem the outer cover of the pillow have become extremely dirty .. How do I clean it can it be washed of disposing is the only option available.

hi viks,
may b u can remove the cover by (cutting), put a new outer cover stitched to its size,
if buying a new one s better go for it.

You have a couple of options.

1. Usually when making the pillow they will leave a 3-4'' opening to fill the stuffing and finally after they fill it up they will stitch from outside to close the opening. If you could the find the stitch, you can open it and take out the stuffing and wash the cover(If its washable). When done remake the pillow.

2. The easiest is, like siva already said, cut the cover and cover it with a plain cloth and then buy/make an attractive and removable pillow cover so that its easy to wash next time.

if it is a ready made pillow, you can try washing it..sometimes it helps..if it is custom made, take it to the pillow, mattress makers, they will make new pillow out of it. you can stitch a new outer covering again..and then the pillow covers.
