    My Dear Aunty,

The incidents from the pages of your life diary so endearing. I enjoyed this one, too..very nice to know about your Mom. You are so very true about everything you told.

Most of your last lines are a punch and this is no exception.

A great dialogue from a Tamil movie, 'God created mothers only to make sure that He is with each and everyone of his creation'...

    No equivalent for mother's love...

    Love,
    Your Niece.

My late mom's mother tongue was Kasturi Kannadā. She never carried chant and prayer books and never sat in a corner to do the worship/prayer. But after bath observe "madi" and chant and sing prayer songs in her mother tongue till cooking is completed in charcoal or and firewood oven and neivedyam done by Dad. Parents then were quite orthodox.
I trust You had added this programme puzzle deliberately.
Indeed. They observed this as a measure to check pollution of food and clothes. There was no threat of any virus during those decades.

Sorry to note you missed your parents so early in life. But i believe there sincere prayers and blessings resulted in your well being and long happy family life achieving enviable grandma status.

Meeting returning pregnant spouse from office at harbour branch station and escorting home remained my wonderful moments . Once it happened that she could not wriggle & alight at chembur. I loudly said "alight next station and I shall come there". Next station less crowded at Govandi she was sitting on a cemented chair and I remember even today the glow on her face upon seeing me.
Here I remember the trying time she had when due to fire in generator car adjacent to first class compartment train halted on a curvy track between Kurla & Chembur. ( there was no Tilag Nagar Station in between then) .
Carry On But Never Hurry Or Worry

Hindus staunch believers in reincarnation. It is observed that demise of a devout person at a ripe age is followed by birth of baby not necessarily of same gender as of person expired.
Mother's love unselfish-affection care can never be replaced by any other. They are embodiment of pure live and affection.
Thanks to you for the repost of your note of 2008. Thanks for nostalgia.

There is a saying in our community that in times of difficulty, the first person we remember is our mother. If we stumble upon something, the first word hey Ma springs from our mouth automatically. I remember my mother for her love and care but more so, for she forgiving me for my faults.

This reminds me of a joke attributed to a hindu old man fell at roadside crying "hurry home - hurry home" . The para medics rendering first aid in their mobile van and transported him direct to his home. The spouse questioned the para medics why at all they had brought him home instead to a nearby hospital. They said that her hubby was repeatedly shouting "hurry home - hurry home".
But then she remembered hubby's habit of chanting often as a sigh of relief or as in distress the phrase "HARI OM - HARI OM".
