Hi Swati, Kavitha and Radha,

Great going! You're all on the right track!

Since the contest starts from Jan 1st, the tracking activity will also commence from Jan. 1st.

Here's a diet tip for all of you:
Consume a cup and a half of cooked oatmeal (218 calories) and throw in half a cup of frozen blueberries (35 calories), which are also high in antioxidants. Or toss in three-quarters of a cup of frozen mixed berries, for 70 additional calories. Also, add your own cinnamon or nutmeg to plain oatmeal rather than buying the flavored versions, which come with added sugar.

Nice thread ..to motivate us to really become a fitness freak,
My current weight is 61 kg.
Have registered - 23rd Dec, 2009
BMI is 23.6 - Overweight

My goal is to attain 57 kg :cheers. Have been planning to go for walk and do yoga , which i do on and off ..but i feel this thread will motivate me to stick to the exercises to attain my target weight.

Our major intention is to spread the awareness of how to stay in shape. At times we forget the importance of things like drinking water and sleeping enough. But sure enough, these are contributors to Staying Fit!

Hi,

My current wgt is 62.8 kg
height = 5.2
BMI = 25.48 Overweight

I am planning to attain ideal weight of 57 kgs over 2-3 months.I have started the step by reducing/stopping the intake of junk foods, drinking hot water, eating healthy food and doing yoga for 45-60mins everyday.

Do any of you have trouble sleeping at night?

Try this:

Take a Date- Milk Shake (pitted chopped dates, milk and sugar blended together), a delicious drink, and include poppy seeds to your diet.

Poppy Seed Chutney, eaten an hour before bed, will help you asleep easier.

Any of you feel you just don't have the time to exercise?

You are not alone.If you feel you're too busy to exercise, try this:
For one day, schedule a time to work out, and then stick to it -- even if it means that you exercise for only 10 minutes. "At the end of the day, ask yourself if you were any less productive than usual," says John Jakicic, Ph.D., an exercise psychologist at the Brown University school of medicine. The answer will probably be no -- and your favorite excuse will be gone.

So, let's go- time to get up and exercise! (before starting an exercise regime, consult your physician, especially if you are pregnant, suffer from any disease or are recovering from a surgery)

We have a week to go before the contest starts!

1. Fitness Goal
I have gained too much weight in the past 4-5 yrs and have reached a stage where I should shed down to remain healthy and fit. My goal is reduce my weight slow and steady and regain the shape I had during my college days.

2. Register at the "Get in Shape 2010" contest Website (Now! - Dec 31st)
Registration done on 24-Dec-2009

3. Find out your beginning BMI and Healthage (using the tools in the contest website) and update it in this thread (Jan 1st - Jan 15th)
My BMI : 32.7 (obese)
I have to lose atleast 25-30 Kg.

Oat meal cookies

Ingredients

[FONT=&quot][/FONT]1 large egg

 

Method

[FONT=&quot][/FONT]Put oats in an oven at 300 degrees for 10 minutes.

[FONT=&quot][/FONT]Beat the egg.

[FONT=&quot][/FONT]Add salt, sugar, and blend it well.

[FONT=&quot][/FONT]Mix oats, vanilla and raisins

[FONT=&quot][/FONT]Pour the mixture by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheets.

Hi ladies,

1) Registration date : December-24-2009:thumbsup

2) My Fitness goals: I am quite stressed out each day since i am a mother of one and half year baby. I feel my weight is correct, but i am not in shape. I want to reduce fat in hip and stomach. I want to wear my jeans back with a tight tshirt on top without any hesitation. :cheers So planning to get up early in the morning do yogasanas and walking 5 rounds around my flat (huge) in the evening

3) My BMI calculated on contest website is 23.2 and is normal (Dec 24)
