    tashidelek, everydaybloom !!!

Same pinch, my favourite is also my 500 ml electric kettle

Kettles are very useful to speed up things. I use it for many things.
For hot water to drink with honey - especially if you get wet in rain [IMG]
speed up hot water for tea and coffee,
adding hot water to pulav or upma
    soaking tamarind or kokam,
    steeping green tea
    Steeping tulsi seeds and leaves
Rasam and sambar is so quick
Put hot water in cooker and it goes shshsh so quickly
    Soaking soya chunks
    soaking rava for rava dosa
making cold milk warmer (in a steel glass)
soaking chana, rajma, dry beans and matar
Quick cook frozen matar and sweet corn
Soak badam, kaju, and dry nuts and khus khus - poppy seeds to grind for pulav
Soak tomato for skinning it easily
    Blanch beans, greens
    washing cauliflower
Sometimes, if I'm in a hurry I'll wash tur dal in boiling hot water instead of normal water and then put in cooker - dal cooks soft very quickly

    Hi sravanitenali

Vidalia chopper will cut lady's finger and beans into small once like for south indian curries. If you don't mind pls post the pic of those cut vegetables. I am in need of those badly.
Now I prepare those vegetables on holidays only as it takes some more time.

If so, where can I get that Vidalia chopper in Chennai.

    Love,
    Soch

    Hi Priya
Thank you...I brought vidalia chopper, pineapple cutter. Both seem to work great. I usually don't like gadgets as they clutter the kitchen drawers without any benefit.
These gadgets made my work easier hope they have good life.:)

I wanted to start this thread to share kitchen appliance which we feel is very helpful, good and save time. Being a full time working mom , it is really difficult for me to prepare something is kitchen and finally we started having junk or frozen food. However we didn't like taste. I started finding something which help me and trust me even I wasted lot of money as well after buying couple of gadgets which I never used.

So let me start with my kitchen -
    1. Vidalia Chopper from bath and Beyond - I had already baught another chopper from which was totally waste of money and still lying on my kicthen, so I was reluctant initially and took 3 month to decide. Finally my DH baught it (without telling me) and I am love with this. I cut most of the vegetable with this including garlic. Baught for my family in India ( total 6)

    2. Pinapple cutter - Since we love Pinapple but was avoiding buying this because of effort on peeling Pinapple. This help me a lot..and now Pinapple is part of my fruit basket.

    3. Garlic Peeler - We use garlic alot ..so one of the other gadget which I want to gift to my family (Bhabhi's and SIL) whene I'll go to India.

    4. Corn Peeler - I love boiled corn and can mix in any curry.[/QUOTE]
