Call me crazy Kishoremommy but that is what attracts me - so many colors...imagine in a simple single color room with just a colorful quilt??

Here are some images that will give you an idea ....patchwork quilt - Google Search

So here's something I was thinking of - let me try....

Say you have your patch work towels made to the size of a bed spread (any size you prefer, I would go with single for simplicity)
Imagine you spread a bedsheet on the floor
cut out the same size sponge/padding on that sheet and stitch it so that it is stuck with bedsheet.
Now stich up the towels on the other end.

The padding helps with this and you could even cut off the edges so that it is a little more smoother.

I am simply speaking a way of making a "razai". If you look up online for quilt making, you will get many videos and instructions.

I know it is a long process but I couldn't resist sharing! Didn't mean to make it more complicated.

I have done a couple of pieces like this (with cloth ofcourse) when mine were new born babies, I will take some pictures and upload.

how about making face towels with adding lace or piping to the edges.

a tote for regular shopping..since the towels are by nature sturdy, the bag will come in handy with the ban on plastic covers.

you can also make an organiser for the bath, wardrobe..add a bit of lace or contrast color to break the montony of the color..

I also liked this idea.. have been eyeing this for quite sometime..

Excellent Srama.I saw the images. Why don't we call it "crazy quilt".

Now,I should look for a big sponge.

    This solves the problem.

Dear Vjoice, napkin towels would be useful.Regarding bibs and feeding bottle pouch,my second son is now 19 months and he doesn't need them any more.

But,I can make lunch towels out of them.Your tips would be useful for moms of young babies who may read this thread in future.

To sew denim and other heavy fabrics, use a denim style 2026 needle for denim or a size 16 or 18 needle for heavier weight fabrics.

You will need to set the machine for a straight stitch with the length regulated between 3 and 4.

You will also get better results if you use the metal all-purpose foot that is included with your machine.

Sew at a controlled moderate speed when sewing over multiple layers of seams.

Please, check this link for details regarding needles.

Hope this helps in stitching heavy fabrics.
