    The firm thick ones don't loose shape. I select the ones that sit well in a pan. Both capscicum and tomatoes need to pass thr sitting on their tush test:p.:BangHead:

    Goes well with a nice spicy biriyani..khatra meeta thika tamatar patchadi.. omg drooling..

    Now you two gals have got me really intrigued about this dish. Please could you tell me how you make it? Have never seen or eaten it.

    Sweet pachhadi is part of the ezhai sapaadu especially marriages chances are you had it without realising the name, satchi @satchitananda mostly it is tamatar because it is easily available.

    Make a sugar syrup. Say if the toms are tangy use 1/2 cup of sugar with say 1 cup water for five to six tomatoes. Cube or cuts tomatoes to nice small pieces When it is boiling to a one string add a nicely chopped chilli(optional) and the toms. Allow it to cook well. Then add fried in ghee cashews, crush dates for taste, and raisins too.add. Cook well till it tends becomes like a jam or preserve.
    Cool anf have it with rotis or as a accompanyment for jeera rice or any spicy rice.

    On that note any chappathi with pachamirtham fans.. i thought it is a wierd combo of dh but found few others who like it..

    @Laks09 i want some of that salsa.. look at your pan. Cast iron?? Last evening i hurt my shoulder just trying to lift one pan at homecentre:coldsweat:..i can only drool ar them. Dh says i am too choosy and should relent and try the light weight ones.. and the argument starts.. everything that says cast iron is not great:BangHead:

    Super duper menu Laks! Only could not help feeling suddenly sorry for tomatoes being roasted in their skins. Just one of those sudden random crazy thoughts popping up in my mind from time to time making me wonder ..... :)

    @parineetha you got sundried tomatoes. This recipe in my list of to do..planning to sundry. Some day for all the drying i do i wish i invest in a dehumidifier..and dh think i will do a different torture..:p:neutral:

    These are rather oven dried in disguise ;) Roma tomatoes oven dried with olive oil preserve. But honestly I lik the store bought sun dried tomatoes..homemades are soft and luscious, nothing like the ultra-dry chewy sun dried ones.

    Ur salan looks lovely. Where's the briyani? :D
    So much briyani talks since Mornin, looks like I need it badly :) :) :)
