Is microwave oven cooked food leads to cancer?
Generally it is advised(Indian foods that need deep cooking) not to cook foods for a long time in microwave. reheating/baking purposes are best done in it.
survey say's that microwave cooked food is safe. infact it is more healthier than normal cooking as colour, texture, nutrient would be retained but only use microwave safe glass vessel(borosil) rather then plastic bowl for cooking. there would be chemicals in plastic utensils which gets mixed with food leading to different type of problems.
Plastic containers are always bad, be it microwave or for storing edible products. They have chemicals which could get into the food when microwaved. Also food stored in plastic containers does'nt stay fresh for long and perishes easily. Its always best to microwave in a glass bowl (like pyrex). Also, storing the groceries in glass bottles keeps them pest free and fresh for a long time.
It should only be used for reheating purpose.....It doesnot lead to cancer. There are many articles about the bad effects on microwave on internet.70%of nutrients are lost when milk is boiled in microwave.
Basically all the nutrients will be taken off. Thats why they advice not to use microwave for cooking... Just reheat purpose between 2-5 mins. Also dont boil water in microwave. Use glass bowls and not plastics (because the chemicals of plastic will be in your food)
