With all the craze around IF, I thought of giving it a try. I have been following it for 6 days now. Initial 3 days I was seeing my weight dropping but next 3 days it went back up to the weight that I had started with.

    - Anyone else here doing intermittent fasting?
    - Are you getting any results with it?
    - What method of IF are you following i.e. 16-8 or 20-4?
    - How many times do you eat during the eating window?
    - Did you anytime see your weight going up while doing it instead of dropping?

I have been doing 16-8 method of it. I eat my breakfast around 10 which consists of 10-12 nuts, a glass of fruit juice and 2 pesarattu. Lunch around 2pm with roti, sabzi and raita/dahi. Dinner around 6pm consisting of smoothie and salad. Initial 3 days when I was seeing my weight dropping, I didn't have lunch. Just breakfast & dinner. With my listed breakfast and dinner, I thought I won't get enough nutrients so I included lunch as well.

I am 80kgs and have to get down to 60-58kgs... Longggg way to go.

IF is more of a permanent lifestyle change, not necessarily a quick weight-loss tool. I have been following the 16/8 pattern since the beginning of this year. I have lost about 15 pounds but I also eat mostly low-carb and track calories carefully. I usually skip breakfast, having just a cup of green or herbal tea. Lunch is around noon, then dinner by 6 or 7 latest. If I feel really hungry in between I'll have some fruit, raw vegetables and dip or some nuts. No snacking after dinner. I drink plenty of fluids during the day: plain water, water flavored with citrus slices, herbal tea, and some black coffee. Weight loss has been gradual but steady.

Watch this video on intermittent fasting: I do intermittent fasting, reduced my weight and in control. I reduced carbs intake...and I'm a vegan. I don't take anything made of white sugar and all purpose flour.
This may not work for everyone. You need to try and find out, if it works for you...

Yeah I had came across this video on youtube last week and that kind of encouraged me to get into this. I think I need to work on my carbs maybe, but I have been taking complex carbs like beans/dal and all and carbs from fruits. I had 2 frozen chapatis too for last 3 days and today I had some rice as well. Not sure if I should get rid of grains and just eat complex carbs.

I have tried multiple lifestyle changes like eating 6 times or 8 times a day. Eating 3 times and day and various other diets. Out of all these, I found this diet to be quiet manageable. I don't feel hungry as such and don't get much cravings for junked food too. Sometimes I feel like putting something in my mouth at night since my last meal is between 5:30-6:00pm and I sleep around 12 or so, but I would just drink more water or would have a cup of green tea. I noticed my digestion issues have reduced with this so might continue IF. But hope it helps with weight loss. Not sure if I should start working out with IF or not. However if I do, I will be more hungry and will end up eating more.
