I live in a 25year-old multitoreyed apartment. There are window spaces above the corridors in all the floors. Some of the corridor floors get waterlogged during rainy season due to faulty sloping by the builders. We want a cost-effective solution to cover up the window spaces (4 1/2' x 3' each). The only feasible solution we have come up with so far is an aluminium/frosted glass sliding door window. The disadvantage here is that part of the window space gets permanaently closed (an open window is not possible) and glass is breakable. We have ruled out sintex as it shuts out sunlight. We want something that fulfils the following conditions:

    1. Should keep away rain water.

    2. Should not shut out light and breeze. If it does, it should be temporary.

    3. Should not cost much (less than Rs1000 welcome).

We thought of roller blinds but they won't completely keep away the water. So ladies please, let's have the benefit of your grey cells. And this is urgent. Thanks.

    ferret,

posting a picture of how the windows are placed and if the corridor is open will give a better idea. but at rs.1000 isn't it being greedy with the cost of living..even a coconut thatched roof piece comes at 100rs each these days.
