    Today's tip:

Cut vegetables just before you plan to cook. The longer you stock the cut vegetables, the more is the nutrient loss.

If it is absolutely necessary to stock the cut vegetables, cut them into bigger pieces and stock. This way, less nutrient is lost. Also, ensure that the veggies are stored in air-tight containers such as Tupperware. Never leave them uncovered.

    Hello Dears..

    Today's Health Tip:

For good hydration during workout, drink 1/4 - 1/2 cup of water, every 15-20 minutes. Don't rely only on your thirst.

In warm weather you may need more because of increased water loss due to sweating. Your thirst mechanism is blunted during exercise, so don't rely on drinking only when you are feeling thirsty. Instead, set your watch to go off every 15-20 minutes to prompt you to take a sip.

    Health tip of the day:

Sit upright while watching TV. Wrong posture, such as lying across the couch with your head turned toward the TV, can lead to back & neck pain.

Thank you all for the motivating words.. :)

    Health tip of the day:

Drink 2-3 cups green tea everyday as it helps in weight loss by increasing your metabolism.
According to study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, researchers found that men who were given a combination of caffeine and green tea extract burned more calories than those given only caffeine or plain water. More specifically, green tea extract resulted in a significant increase in energy expenditure (a measure of metabolism), and also had a significant effect on fat oxidation.

The proposed mechanism for green tea's calorie-burning properties lies in the ability of EGCG (a powerful antioxidant found in green tea) to increase thermogenesis, or heat production, by influencing enzymes in the metabolic process. This doesn't necessarily mean that you will feel hot after drinking green tea, rather it means that EGCG seems to increase the amount of calories burned throughout the day for all activities.
