About Weighing Scales

    Hi all, :cheers

    This is my first post in this Forum-Thread. I will be hanging around in this area for most of time going on. To start with i wanted to discuss something which most of you might not have discussed (I guess so!)

    It is about Weighing scales. I am sure whoever is serious on Weight Reducing would be owning a weighing scale or go to a regular place for taking measurements.

    Here are some tips, which I wanted to share about, while taking weight

    1. Always measure weight, first in the morning after clearing your bowels and before drinking water (Empty stomach and Empty bowels). This will be the accurate weight. If we measure weight anytime in between it is going to oscillate based on Food we intake and water we consume.

    2. If possible try to take weight in same clothes or same type of clothes. We often forget that dresses have role in weight too. Yoga track pants usually weight 0.5kg, so account that in your weight too. I always take in simple cotton night dress so that my measurements are consistent. :thumbsup

    3. Do not take weight with any of your parts wet, even hair. Wipe and wait till it gets dry.

    4. The posture which we stand to take weight is very important. Do not bend to see what the weight is, or keep hands in hips - as all these will be give fluctuaions in the weight.

    5. I hope very less people use analog weighing machine. Always prefer a digital weighing machine as it is accurate.

    6. We are always programmed to check our weight in Kg. But a better way is to check weight in pounds. That gives even more accurate way of how to lose weight. Since 2.2lbs - 1 kg, we can track our weight loss even better.

    7. They say it is better to check weight once in a week. That way we can see some progress and also wont get depressed if we don't lose weight in middle of the week. Actually my nature is just opposite. Somehow if I don't see my weight daily, I don't get motivation to reduce. Also suppose if I eat some oily item or something and see weight increased, the next day itself, I make sure I come back to Original weight, by walking extra or eating less, like that.

    8. One mistake I used to do is that, I assumed that if I eat chocolates, ice-cream etc, my weight would reflect immediately / next day. What I have observed is that, high calorie foods like these, will take time to actually become weight. I see shoot up in weight after 2 or 3 days only. By that time, I would be thinking that it didn't have any effect and eat more of them and discover it later :drowning

    My hubby recently purchased a weighing scale for me, and I just love it. Why I love it because, that was the first weighing machine which shows consistent weight - Same weight, even if I see 10 times. Even the one in Gym will not show same weight again and again. Plus it is ultra slim and takes measurement for Fat, Water and Muscle content. For me it doesn't show these reading bcos I have high fat content. But waiting to reduce more and see it.. :thumbsup

    good Compilation Divya......Weighing Scales and Mirror are your Best Friends. They never Lie...Buying a Weighing Machine is the first step towards weight Loss...Checking Frequently(I do it everyday) makes you in Track of your weight and Trust me you will be guilty to stand on it if you have skipped the regualr weight Loss Routine :)
