A weight loss success story

    Dear Tweety,

    The only side effect of my weight loss was a wardrobe full of clothes which no longer fitted me, they were just too loose. Apart from this there was no other side effect.

    It took me more than a year to bring my weight down. I have always advocated slow weight loss.

    Thyroid might make your weight loss slow BUT not impossible to achieve. Just aim for one or two kg weight loss a month and you will do fine.

    It took me more than a year to loose weight. As for hard work, I did show commitment for my exercise and said no to bad food. My family eats what I eat. Its best to pull your family in your weight loss project. Eating healthy is good for both types (skinny or fat).

    There were few real bad habits that I gave up like having burger, french fries and coke thrice a week. Now I wonder how I used to eat that kind of crap. So chalk down your bad habits and make efforts to correct them and before you know you will start seeing positive results.

    Thanks for your response,Shiva! highly appreciate your time and guidance.

    I weighed myself on 6th Feb and found to be 71.6Kg. I had a good week of watchful eating and exercise. I'm planning to weigh myself tomorrow and check whether there's any shift in the scale. I'm not expecting much and will not be disappointed if there's no change. I will continue to improvise...

    1. I plan what I eat for the week in advance(in excel) and try to follow it as much as possible and track the changes
    2. From today, I plan to have 1roti, subji, and raita for dinner instead of 2roti, subji
    3. Realized I'm having less protein intake, so planning to include lentil soups as breakfast twice a week
    4. I enjoy eating fruits, I plan to capitalize on it for snacking

    I will post my progress week on week till I reach my target of 58kgs

    PS: I finished reading all your blog posts, I must say you have great writing skills...loved those experimental low-calorie dishes, will surely try some and let you know

    Hi Shiva & friends,

    I used to be a regular on this thread and then i conceived and totally lost touch here.. now my 2nd daughter is 9 months old.. and now i have gained back those lost wt.

    I want to lose weight now..

    i am now 69 kgs.. and my target wt is 57 kgs..

    from now on i plan to post regularly here to keep track of myself.. As of now i dont find time to exercise or go for walk.. i will somehow find time to go for alteast 30 mins of walk..

    I will start posting my food log from tommorrow.

    Need all of ur support and motivation.

    I weighed myself and I'm down from 70.6 to 70.4 in a week, not bad :) my target is to lose at least 1kg a month, I'm confident I can make it.

    Hi Friends,

    Here is my update for Feb 14th

    morn - honey+ water
    coffee
    Poha upma

    midmorn - few black grapes + 1/2 cup coffee

    lunch - 2 chappathis + dal - hotel bought

    evg - cofee

    dinner - two slices of sandwich + 1/2 cup tea
    bowl of pappaya

    13th feb - 69 kgs..
    My next weigh day is 20th Feb

    Was not able to do any exercise or walking..
    anyways will keep trying to somehow adjust and start exercising..

    I tried quite a bit our low calorie recipes and they came out sooo well. Sweet Potato nests were just Yumm! Thank you!
