Lunch Ideas - Creating Balanced Vegetarian Meals

    So today's menu:

    Breakfast: Coffee and ......... (no prizes for guessing. Hint: Breakfast at Alliance Francaise)
    Lunch: 1 phulka, baingan bhartha and patla dal with Bedekar's lasun chutney.
    Waaaaaaaaaaaaah! I bought the baingan to make the slices dipped in besan and to airfry it. I rarely see the cook, so when I came home today, I found it has been made into baingan bhartha. Never mind, I need to go buy some more.

    No shans di..we are not precooking no? it wont mash at all..see the pic..
    My amma's advise is to cook Yam after few days when it's not peach fresh..will let it sit for sometime and then use it.

    @satchitananda - what's not to love about eggs..I'm convinced its not non-veg :D
    I need them everyday in some form..I'm thinking of a savory version of french toast with milk, eggs, some cheese, herbs :tonguewink::facepalm:
    Your lasooni chutney powder looks so delicious :hearteyes:

    I didn't say I don't like eggs. I certainly did not like it as egg nog. I like boiled eggs or omelettes, but it is boring if I have to eat it every day. I agree. It is not non-veg. It is an animal product like milk, cheese etc.

    Thanks. I love lasson chutney. Am having it after a looooooooong time - the dry version I mean.

    Keeping a watch on my alarm to check out whether it was doing its duty or not ensured I woke up at 4.30 am today. :laughing:

    Made some moong dal idlis and tried making it colourful by adding carrot to it.

    This thread is a treasure trove of information. I didn't know that people with PCOD have tougher time with losing weight. I've always wondered why even a week without exercise increases my weight?! But I always tell DH "Kallam kabadam illadha manasu, adhanaladhan saapaadu udambula ottudhu!" .(loose translation- "I'm such a nice person that everything that belongs to me stays with me including the food) . His reaction is :lol::lol:

    Yam has so many health benefits?! I'm really surprised. Senai is used regularly but no one prefers it. I've never used karunaikizhangu though.

    Made Badam Halwa as my father had come & both of us have sweet tooth. Now back to mangoes for 'khane ke baad kuch meeta ho!'
