Frends Many of you will be there is US . Can you please help me with this bit of information. One of my friend is traveling to US on dependent visa. She herself is a software professional but has left her job here in India to be with her husband. As far I know a person having dependent visa can not work in US .Is there any condition on which she will be allowed to work there?
Yes depending on her visa type. If she is in L2 visa (ie hubby on L1) she can work for anyone. Or if she is on H4 visa and their green card is on process, she can benefit from the EAD card, which also allows her to work. hope it throws some light.
Is it h4 visa that she is travelling on? If yes,then she cannot work. if it is L2 then she can come to US and find jobs for herself. Also, like sunj has pointed out, if her hubby has green card processed then also she can work.
