Wore Saree To Office - What Happened And Lessons Learned

I wore saree to work


1. I draped saree at office. In haste the side pleats were too loose. With more experience the hip pleats can be tight and I can get 5th pleat

2. 4th pleat was hiding. I had to use extra safety pin to make it visible as possible. I think this is because hip pleats were done poorly

3. I need to avoid pinning the slacks I wore below petticoat. When nature called I lifted the structure and safety pins open and flew away.

4. Saree was draped barefoot, then I wore flats. Saree kissed floor but when I did lunchtime walks I saw that saree was up to ankles

5. I work with so many Desis, no one made any comment.

6. when I went outside for walk one 30 year old lady said I looked nice.

6b. Then a Hari Krishna lady who wears saree with sneaker and up to her mid calve stared at my drape while walking across me and talking on her phone. Perhaps she wanted to learn the simple nice drape.

6c. A young, reasonably handsome young man looked at me little longer. When waiting for Coffee order he stood little closer to me. Unsure what this means.


Lessons learned
1. Avoid cotton petticoat. It creates friction in movement

2. today I got paper towels in bathroom to cover changing room floor. This is not enough. Next time I will get inexpensive and large craft paper to cover the floor when changing into and out of saree.

3. Since this is cotton, I may put this for wash because am paranoid about how many germs are on it. I avoided touching ground. And I changed into and out of the saree at work

I felt I had to analyze because so many things I expected didn’t happen but so many things I didn’t expect did happen

 

I’m gonna find sleeveless bodysuit for warmer weather
