hello all ,

We do pray god by saying..."if this happens" i will do 108 parikrama or say offer something. Come to tirupathi shiridi etc..... why do we do that ?? Some friend of mine was saying its equal to bribery. Is it so ?? I belive this culture in its purest form has some relevance. Does this have any relevance ????

Hi Pavani , I also believe that it is equal to bribery . The powerful God / Goddess does not require
anything in return . However as you said , this type of business ;-) is in practice by many people .

Sthutis , Stotras ... etc are also used to please the Gods . they have phala shruthis at the end .
reading the phala shruti is also important for certain Stothras (eg. Devi Mahatyam) . sometimes
I do not like reading phala stuthi parts . some say reading phala stuthi is not really compulsory !
