Why does a talented actress like Nithya Menen not get more roles?

She is a natural actress, can speak six languages fluently, and has some good movies to her credit. I wonder why there aren't more movies starring her?

Is it because of politics? Or is she too homely looking? Or too plump?

I think it is because she is on the fatter side. And not in a passable Vidya Balan kind of buxom fat. Menen is fat as in looks fat even in an artfully draped saree.

I think Nithya Menon is not young or glamorous. She is a normal sized Indian looking beauty and doesnt have gym body.

Shes beautiful but not glamorous like say Samantha or Deepika. My guess is many women can identify themselves with someone like Nithya Menon vs someone like say Nayantara.

She can ace certain roles but not versatile IMO
She also didn't experiment during initial phase of her career and focused on certain type of roles.
Lack of directors who can create good content with female leads in South India.
Unfortunately there is no KB who can make women-centric movies which can still bring commercial success
Very few directors can make those movies successful. There is lack of such directors or content creators.
