I'm planning to include millets in my diet. Please tell where can we buy foxtail millet(thinai) or pearl millet(kambhu) in US or any online website.

I tried few Indian stores near to my house. They have only ragi flour. Couldn't find others. Thanks for the recipes. I will check it out.

OP: You will be able find millets in any grocery store near you. Just ask the shop people if you don't find. If you have whole foods store or Kroger or any organic food store you can easily find it. Here in TEXAS I get it in HEB too and that's a common grocery store here.

Indian stores carry these in small quantities in the pooja aisle/ 'Vrat ka Khana' section. They are labeled as seeds for some reason, eg samai will be samo seeds etc. Go armed with a chart that gives the hindi/gujju/tamil/telugu/english name of each millet depending on the ethnicity of the grocery owner or person assisting you. :)

Yellow millet is available widely in health food stores. Runs about $1.50 a pound. Arrowhead Mills one is the better one. Recently I cooked in rice cooker 2/3 millet and 1/3 red quinoa...it was very tasty.

The yellow is a hulled millet and the unhulled is usually fed to birds...... Frankly I don't know if you can get other kinds here in the regular stores. I personally like the yellow millet....have you tried it?
