    Hi Sonia
You can also try these raw veggies:
    1. Onions
    2.Beetroot ( sliced)
3.Raddish ( julienned and tossed in lime-juice. Good blood purifier)
    4. Okra ( Ladies finger or Bindi) select very tender ones.
    5. Vegetable Marrow ( called Chow-Chow , Semai-Kathrikai, Bengaloor Katri etc) Can use in raita, grated raw.
    6. Capsicum :Cut into thin strips and add to mixed salad
    7. Tender ( i repeat: Tender) Snake Gourd : Chop small, bundle into muslin , dip in boiling water for 15 second only - to remove raw odour.
    8. Sprouts ( moong, horse gram, channa )
    9. Early- Green of Methi (germinated to the six leaf stage)
    10. Banana Stem : Tiny cubes tossed in youghurt.

    The list is endless...

    Dear Sonia....
I take it that you are looking for various veggies to be eaten raw as in salads. The list is endless and you have already gotten tips above. Note the following green, leafy salad veg that is available in plenty:
Arrugola, Endives, Chicory, Celery, Lettuce, Iceberg lettuce, Mustardcress, Watercress, Spinach and Baby spinach, Lollo Rosso, Radicchio, Kale, Dill, Collard greens, Broccoli........!!
There are many varieties in the Lettuce family alone.
Then there are the Chinese green leafy veg such as Bok choy, Pak choy etc.
You should find them all at your local Produce shops.
    Have fun, best of luck:)

    L, Kamla

    Hello Vidyasarada,

I was always fascinated by the veggie "Banana Stem"...... My mom used to make Sabji.... and i have seen a lot of strings , when cut... I never liked, but after joining this forum, banana stem is really very nutritious, especially when eaten raw, i understood.. some one even suggested the juice of this veg....

I am very eager to know from you, how do you cut this veg. into rounds and then to small pieces, as you have mentioned small cubes wih youghurt and i dont mind trying it...

Can you be a little more specific and also how does it taste??????

    Thank you in advance
