What type of sarees can we gift our kitty group ladies who are celeberating 25th Wedding anniversary and 50th Birthday?

Cost will be split with the group so money is not an issue.Suggest suitable varieties of sarees for 50years old ladies in US.

Recently even the silk sarees have lot of large prints - all over Kalamkari designs - they are fine if you are adding to an existing range for daily wear but if they are nearing 50 they might prefer the classic ones (of course you would know them better)!

So when you invest in something expensive (silk sarees), do explore the more traditional enduring designs

You can check Uppada, Kanchi, Mysore Silk, Dharmavaram silks! Banarasi & Paithani are also easy wear, lightweight and look grand!

I too thought most befitting gift should be a saree in ms blue with medium size jaree border and thalapu depicting rama pattabhushekam woven in jaree with "Sri Ram Jaya Ram"

But second thought dispelled my first choice. If the lady is lanky or stodgy the border and body colour saree would get mismatched. Also complexion of the lady to be gifted should be factored in.

Keeping in view the frequency of use, preservation hiccups & getting it laundered at their present age, i think allweather gift better than a silk saree could be a jewel made of 22ct gold with lady's Rasi/natchathiram stone studded for ear or or nose.

    Happy New Year .
