What to use for washing clothes?

    I am using Tide detergent powder but my clothes seem to shrink after washing & drying. Please suggest
    1. What is better - detergent powder or liquid?
    2. Which detergent brand is recommended?

    Downy is good. They have both detrgent and fabric softener.

    What about if I am already using fabric softener sheets while drying that also prevent static cling.

    I use Tide liquid, and fabric softner sheets in dryer. Yes there will be shrink of cottons but that is not due to liquid or powder but the cloth texture that makes shrink.
