hi all I recently got two boxes of ladoos . now i shared a few with another indian family in my block but still there are so many of them and since it was kind of prasad i dont feel like throwing them so i was wondering if anyone knew any recipes where i could use them , kind of mask it as something else so that dh eats it:mrgreen: they are dryfruit motichoor ladoos.
haha , i would love to parcel them radhai and trust me they are awesome but i cant eat all that ghee and sugar with dryfruits and pile on some more kgs, and dh somehow does not like ladoos. you are also welcome to visit us for ladoos
Hey dear. You can simply crumble the ladoos and use it as a stuffing to make sweet parathas or gujiyas (karanji)Or you can reduce some milk and add the crumbled ladoos in it alongwith some fresh or dried fruits and serve it chilled. You can have this as it is or even fill this in panipuri puris and eat.My fav however would be a sprinkle of the crumble on farsan.I know it sounds gross but trust me it tastes yum.Just make sure you sprinkle only a little crumble per serving.I hope these ideas will be helpful.
Thanks armaity, i like that sweet prantha idea, i was kind of thinking it, to make it like pooran poli which dh loves , i thought i would add grated coconut and stuff it in roti and make polis but was not sure how would they turn out and i loved that gujias idea too. do you think i can make some gujias or polis and freeze them ?
Thanks cutemonster.I'm glad you liked the ideas.I'm sure adding coconut will enhance its taste.Well ofcourse you can prepare the polis and freeze them...they will still taste delicious. But somehow I don't know why I have observed that gujiyas do not taste that great when frozen. But you can always give it a try.
cutemonster, personally i feel motichur has lesser shelf life than the regular ladoos. maximum 15 days. but i have freezed tirupathi laddoos for months. you can crumble them and add them to a raitha too. i have heard of ladoo payasam, but if there is too much ghee it would spoil the taste is my loud thinking.. i am not a great fan of sweets.. crumble and stuff and make poli like parathas. even modaks...the outer covering will reduce the sweetness. and yes gujiya looks like a feasible option too.. and do send some to radhai...
you can also make 'Halwa'. Just crumble laddos, mix with little Milk and keep in stove for few minutes. I do this normally for moong daal Laddo . When I was in India , my MIL was sending it whenever any one was coming from hometown
