How do you guys spend your weekends? Also when you go out for dining..do you try variety restaurants or stick to few of your favorites? Let me begin with me.. mostly home or grocery shopping.. Dining honestly though Grubhub or same Old restaurants coz honestly for my taste Olive Garden or Applebees I like better than local restaurants
I only cook at home and eat what I cook. It's very very rare for me to eat outside. I used to eat out very regularly but got so bored that it's been 5 months and counting I prefer cooking and eating. I truly got bored of watching movies in a movie theater. Much prefer to watch them from the comfort of my home. Anyways real life has so much drama going on that even a masala movie can't compare. From August to March almost every weekend my husband and daughter were out of town traveling for her sports tournament. Also both on Saturday and Sunday kids have classes. So weekends are crazy.
Weekends mostly home. Saturday grocery shopping and sunday busy with my Daughters classes. We also eat out and when we do I like to repeat the same restaurants where I know the food is good and DH likes to try new places.
Weekends are busier than weekdays LOL! Now that the pools are open one day is always spent there. I try to finish grocery shopping on Saturday. Then Sunday we usually go to a playground/indoor play area depending on weather. Rarely we get to stay at home the entire weekend. We usually get fast casual when we are out with our kid. My husband and I will go for lunch one day during the week, and we try to go to a new place every time.
I mostly stick to same restaurants and order the same food. Sometimes to buy something for $15 and the food be horrible to my taste when I am hungry is something I have started to avoid. Do you have any favorite dishes in olive garden and Applebee's. Haven't been to either one for a while.
The lasagna fritta is awesome their alfredo sauces are a must try in. OG. As for applebees most of their stuff is pretty decent i would say..def not bad
Once the kids turned 16 or 17 and started driving, our weekends changed, and have been changing since then. For last 1-2 years, lot of nice impromptu drives to my DS or DD's city and then coffee or lunch out. Also a common outing is to colleges nearby where there are students from India, kids of my childhood friends or my husband's. Those are mostly food drop-off or if they want to go shopping for any big item, or a milestone birthday. I like these meetings, as it is nice to meet kids who grew up in India, I ask them all sorts of questions. And I just enjoy seeing them thoroughly enjoy Indian food when we eat out. One time one kid asked me if we could order two extra raita's for the spicy paneer biriyani, and would it be extra cost. : ) I was so overcome with motherly love I had to stop myself from simply hugging the dear child. : ) Restaurants - it is either out of necessity (no cooked food at home), or to celebrate something. If necessity, we do phone order and it is the same standard items each time. If celebrating and dine in, they try new items each time in appetizers and main course, and I myself don't order, just eat from everyone's order. I try to avoid packing left overs from restaurant.
