Re: I MISS s'pore!!! Hi Joshila, Yes prices have risen but that is a trend everywhere not just for Singapore. Compared to a lot of places, Singapore is actually a place which is very affordable. I can understand how you feel. I have been born and bred in Singapore and have lived in the US and in India but came back to Singapore as for me there is no place like home. My family and extended family has now grown so much in Singapore that we have practically a settlement here (about 100 -150 relatives itself) It is safe, provides equal opportunity, good cultural links, language possibilities for children not to mention -good food. Every country offers its own unique beauty. I think it is up to the individual to decide what is important. Do come back. Singapore is indeed a great place to raise a family. :goodidea:
Re: I MISS s'pore!!! Hi Lakshmi, My husband and I are considering the possibility of relocating to Spore. Do you know how I can find out about the job opportunities in Spore? In particular we are interested in the job opportunities in embedded systems. Both me and my husband are computer engineers and hold Masters from US universities. We have been working in the US throughout our careers. How hard is life for a working couple with a small kid. Is it possible to find good household help? Do you face any racial discrimination at the work place. I have worked for Chinese before and I found that they demand very long hours. How is the work culture in Spore. It will be really good if you can throw some insight into the life in Spore. Thanks, Kavya.
