thanks a ton sudha, vij, sunitha, vchintaravi, pandusk for encouraging reply.

I have used cotton pieces (i got them from near by tailor, the wastage from stitching). i wash them before use to check for the running colours.

to start with i draw the design on the bedsheet and then i decide on the colour scheme etc and i use the washed and ironed clothes to cut various pieces of design. once all the pieces are cut then i set the pieces on the bedsheet as per the effect i want..like stomach cloth shall be below the lahnga cloth or the chunri cloth should come over the face.

after setting all the pieces i start stitching with the requisite colours.

once entire stitching is done...i do the finshing work like eyes, lips, hair, bangles, payal etc with fabric paint.

this bedsheet has taken 5 days 2-3 hrs per day.

let me know if u want to know anything more..would be happy to help..

    luv
    Surya
