    Here is the PDF attached that details the Varalakshmi Pooja / Vratam preparations and procedure. This was compiled with the help of Chitvish and other wonderful IL Ladies!

    Dear Coolblues,

    Thank you for sharing a wonderful puja procedure file. It should be useful for one and all.

    In my MIL's place, we don't have the habit of doing Varalakshmi Pooja. But I like to do.

    Hi Coolblues,

    I wanted to ask a question for the pooja, I dont have access to mango leaves.

    Can I use some other leaves for decorating the kalash?

    Hi Himani,

    Mango leaves are the purest and the most auspicious leaves for Kalash. No other leaves can be used as a substitute. Have checked with few elders in the family.

    these days there are silver mango leaves and coconut available in leading jewellery stores in lieu of the mango leaves.

    i have heard but not sure that asoka tree leaves are used for the kalash in the absence of mango leaves.

    In sankalpam on page 12 may I suggest some additions

    __________ gotrodbhavasya , _____________ nakshatre ___________ rasau jaatayaha ___________ naamnyaha ( eg; kousika gotrodbhavasya rohini nakshatre vrishabha rasau jaatayaha lakshmi naamnyaha mamopaatha samastha ---------- ( telling one name and gotra and nakshatra can be added)

    Small typo - dharma , artha , kaama, moksha chaturvidha phala purushartha siddhyartham
