Hello, We will be leaving to India next month and my daughter may not make it to the 6 month vaccination.Is the vacination scehdule the same in INdia as in US ?These are the shots given in US for 6 month. DtaP IPV hEP b Pneumococcal conjugate Rotavirus HiB Appreciate your help.
Hi, The timing of vaccination in India is very different and all these shots would be finished at 4 and a half mnths here. But other than the Rotavirus they are all available here so discuss with your pedi and if you want to you can have the whole lot here (Pneumococcal is very expensive btw). Vanathi.
Wanted to add the US perspective to Vanathi's answer, as I've been going through a similar situation too... Depending on the length of the stay your pediatrician will allow your kid to get the shots a little before 6 mths or after your return too. They generally want 4 - 6 weeks between shots in US, but your pediatrician will be your best guide on that. -L.
