if you are an nri, coming on vacation, you can carry a 32 inch free and pass through green channel. above 32 you need to pay duty and not sure how much it is.

Devi - When are you going on vacation ? Kindly share your experience in the airport ,indian customs when you are taking your LCD.

I have my doubts if we can carry 5kg gold ! Do we have to pay customs and if yes how much does it come down to !! Any idea ? Would like to hear from more ladies !

hi friends,

if the jewellery is ornaments for personal use, i think you can carry them.

I usually carry the jewellery in my handbang along with the purchase receipts. have not had any problem till now.

I think there is a restriction when it comes to bars..

Hi,

If you are carrying a 32" LCD... Also carry the Bill along wiht you and keep it ready if they ask for it... Though upto 32" there is no duty... they still check the bills etc...

With regards to ornamental Gold... carry in you handluggage... If it is big qty... keep the bills also with you... Suggest you carry, when you are going as a family...

Thats a Pretty helpful tip of carrying Receipts while carrying Jewelry ! Though I was told that I can carry as much as I want as long as Im wearing it , but then was apprehensive as didnt want to attract unwanted attention !
Do share if any other thought that comes with respect to the same !
