    One important point to be noted is,

    It is better to check with the air-lines or the air-ticket about the
    exact-dimension ( length,width and height )of the baggage     that is allowed by them and then go for baggage purchase.

    One more small point to take care is,

    If the plan is to take a domestic flight from your place of landing in U.S to your destination in U.S,

    make sure to pay for the food while booking the ticket,

    and if the option is not available,

    better to carry some snacks and also an International Credit Card along with dollars.:thumbsup
    We had an experience,

    We had to take a domestic flight to our place,

    and they wanted the payment for food to be done,inflight only by Credit card.

    hence,sharing it .:)

    If travelling with kids, we should make sure to bring the Immunization Record of the child. As it is needed here not only for medical reference but also for School Admission.

    If wearing Eye-glasses, better get an Eye-check up done and get the eye-glasses before leaving from India.
    This would save $ here.

    Hi,

    Very very useful and informative thread... my hubby went to USA in last month end.. At that time i am unable to see d thread.. if i saw this, very helpful to us..he will return on next week..

    pls help me, he wants to buy some things for my One yr old kid and some electronics items like ipod, camcorder etc HIS,

    Living Place     - Hartford , Manchester.
    Working Place - Tolland CT
    State - Connecticut

    pls tell me, where can he buy ?? how to see d deals??

    For Toys for your little one, Toysrus,Target are good.
    To locate a store near your DH's place, visit the website toysrus.com,target.com
    Also, I heard that there is also a toy store called Toychest in Hartford. Can google and find the exact location of the store.

    Regarding ipods and ipads, we got them from Apple store near our place.

    Camcorder, we bought online from sony.com. Also can check frys.com.

    Hope this helps.

    As earlier said by our friends,
    getting a sufficient number of inner wear is a good idea.
    I just want to add that, it is better to bring some of the next size or so, as mostly we tend to put on weight after coming here.( Personal experience...:bonk:bonk...)
