    dear indus member\friends

Here are some tips for a healthy hair from Ayurveda. medical system .

For lasting beauty, healthy hair we have to start with diet. A lot of green leafy vegetables and sweet juicy fruits are to consumed and some dairy products such as milk. The consumption of refined, processed and canned foods to be minimized or can be avoided. Ayurveda considers foods with artificial preservatives and chemical additives will not helpful in supplying nutrition to our body and mind. Ice-cold beverages also hamper the process of digestion and assimilation of nutrients.

Cooking with certain spices adds flavor to your food and provides nourishment for your hair. Cumin, turmeric and black pepper are some "hair-friendly" spices. Add a healthy pinch of each to single-portion soups and stews as they are cooking.
Stress can be seriously injurious to long-term health and color of hair. We should try to minimize time-related pressures and we have to Practice relaxation by meditation. We should adopt to have good quality sleep to help the natural process of rejuvenation.

Ayurvedic herbs that help hair health are
    • Eclipta alba : Eclipta alba is called "Bhringaraj" - literally, king of tresses. It nourishes the hair and helps resistance to stress.

    • Gotu Kola sometimes called, Brahmi, also helps balance the mind and nourishes the hair and scalp.

    3. Since Ayurveda considers the health, color and luster of hair dependes on overall mind/body health, synergistic Ayurvedic herbal preparations for hair can also include herbs like Country Mallow, which is supposed to strengthen the physiology, and Winter Cherry, which aids resistance to stress.

    4. One should avoid using of harsh chemical topical products which will damage hair over time

    5. Use natural cleansers and conditioners, if wash hair is washed more than three times a week.

    6. Shampoos and conditioners that contain nourishing botanicals are better. The labels should be read carefully ensure that the products are "herbal" or "natural" and did not contain any chemicals.

    7. Warm oil scalp massage two or three times a week will help stimulate and moisturize the scalp. Good quality coconut, almond or olive oil Ayurvedic hair oils also contain some of the good herbs. Warmed Oil to be applied mildly to the hair and gently massage into scalp evenly with fingertips. It should be left on overnight if possible, if not, to be left on for at least an hour or two, then to be washed by shampooing the hair. The scalp massage helps to get relaxed and get sound sleep

    8. The brush not be use for wet hair, no matter how rushed for time you are. Tangles in wet hair are best removed with a wide-toothed comb. Use a wooden comb if you can find one; it won't generate static electricity. Excessive blow-drying can damage hair in the long-term, making it brittle and causing split ends and the hair to be allowed to dry naturally, then brush
    9. Brushing of hair regularly stimulate the scalp to keep healthy and lustrous. The hair to be brushed each night in all directions in turn - left to right, right to left, front to back and back to front by using smooth long strokes from scalp to hair-tips.

Perming and coloring hair, frequent shampooing, blow drying or hot curling can make hair brittle and more prone to breakage, does not cause loss of your beautiful hair…. Do you agree?
