those golden days

    My memories...

    1) grocery means tied in paper (pottalam)only with thread (sandal kairu)
    2) grand parents particularly that he use to give tips as 50paise for doing him favor like bringing pan leaves, betal nuts
    3) outside 7.00pm bell ll ring means soan papadi in cone shaped paper, ground nut fried or kulfi
    4) girls before marriage it's half Sarcee or some people in cities use to wear chudi but after marriage it's only Sarcee
    5) calling husband with respect like avanga until kids birth after that wife ll call him as kids name's appa
    6) milkman ll come to put milk no cover pal
    7) after cover pal came washing those covers & saving it for putting it to paper man
    8) when old utensils exchanging man comes all old clothes & broken plastic bucket with some more money my mom use to buy new utensils
    9) Friday means it a must to do oil bath
    10) new dresses snacks preparation only for Diwali & Krishna jayanthi

    Some more to add...

    1) first 6 months of academic year all my notebooks in brown sheet with label on it & next few month its newspaper cover
    2) in hotel all items ll be served in banana leaf
    3) no electric heater in bathroom, hot water ll be kept in stove
    4) drinking water ll be in kudam always
    5) waking up after 7.30am in sundays or in vacations is considered as a crime & biggest sin i have committed
    6) late night is maximum @ 11.00pm to stay awake

    Paper boats wer a great hit during those days..miss dem now
    N playing gameswith parents it was sooo much fun

    a. Playing chottakal (playing with 5 stones)
    b. Playing Palakuli (usually those games were played by the girls during their puberty as they need to be inside the kudil or kuchu) Pallankuli means metal or wooden box with 2 rows with 7 holes filled with choli. played by 2 members.
    c. Kalla manna (5 or more can be played. each one need to occupy steps of house one of them need to stand on road, he or she need to catch and out when the girls jump from one step of house to another steps of house)
    d. Chillakku (used to draw box like lines, by closing eyes and walking through the lines asking them rightaa wrongaa. if we touch the lines then OUT - very funny)
    e. current pass (sitting round joining hands and one need to press the hand and it should pass thru all, the girl outside should find where it has started :-O
    Many many more games.........very nice to recollect
