I hope there ar no more schedule shifts I feel bad for the Dr who had loss in his family ..l esp since this procedure is trying to avoid loss in family at least the actual TAVR date is unchanged. Following week after that is the Drs religious holiday …. this is so nerve wracking!
@SuiDhaaga When a surgeon encounters a personal loss in the family, it destablishes a lot of such procedures. I am glad you got it rescheduled withing a week. Hang in there and your dad will do well and return home safely. My thoughts and prayers are with you until he recovers completely. Stay strong your dad will expect you to be brave in this situation and will make him feel proud how you are handling it.
You have all this time to prepare yourself real good and get your dad ready too… you can do it everything is going to be just fine…. Here we all are praying for you and your dad and all the procedure. Saying try to stay calm is easy but it’s hard to follow and you got no other choice than to stay calm for your dad… show him how courageous you are…. We all waiting here to hear the success of procedure tomorrow not to worry….
For my daughter procedure we have only few hours to prepare as doctors PA called in evening before 8pm to tell us that they scheduling my baby for procedure next morning and we have to go there by 5 Am to sign some papers I was so confused worried shared this with my husband we are very anxious and passed news to family and friends asking them for prayer support, God walked us thru that and now I am holding my baby right here she is taking nap
This is only Angiogram to test how strong the heart is. If there is blockage, Dr will clear it or put stent. About 1 and 1/2 hours to prep, 1/2 hour for procedure, and 4 to 6 hours for artery to stop bleeding. Next week is the big shebang, the TAVR (trans-aortic valve replacement). Luckily that is an alternate to Open Heart Surgery, but it is still risky
@SuiDhaaga, Our prayers for a smooth procedure and speedy recovery for your dad. Stay strong and support him. He is already proud of you definitely. Visualize him recovering well and back home.
