The ways to keep warm and healthy during the winter

As the winter chill keeps your feet cold and threatens to block your nose the ways to keep warm and healthy this season are

    1. Bring out the woollies
Let the bright cardigans and jackets come out of the closet.
Dress warm in winter and beat the chill. Seniors and children should stuff cotton in their ears to keep warm at night. Using a humidifier to clear the house of dust particles, pollen and other allergens in the air, is also a good idea. It refreshes the air and reduces chances of infection.”

2 Relax the schedule time , but do exercise
The chilly morning fog should not be a deterrent to regular workouts.
Change your exercise timings, if you must, but do exercise to shake off some of the chill. If you are a regular jogger who leaves home at <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:time Hour="5" Minute="0">5 am</st1:time> everyday, relax your timings by an hour or two till it’s warm and sunny.

    3 Stay active, stay happy
Keep active all day. Go for a long walk in the park or join laughter club. Do anything but do not lock up inside your room, citing cold as a reason.
A flu vaccine can be taken from any private hospital at the onset of winter to prevent a viral infection.”

    4 .Sleep well
Indulge in the desire to sleep in, tucked beneath the cosy blanket.
What’s more, it’s good for you too. “Six to eight hours of sleep a night boosts your spirit on a chilly winter morning. It refreshes your brain and enables you to stay active all day,” says Dr Aravinda Jagadeesha, consultant physician
at BGS Global Hospital. The best time to rest is between <st1:time Hour="22" Minute="0">10 pm</st1:time> and <st1:time Hour="6" Minute="0">6 am</st1:time>.
