Everyone has an unique set of mannerisms. Some of them we like, some we don't. Some turns us on.. some turns us off..

Have you ever noticed some such mannerisms in your spouse that appeal to you? Is there any mannersim that might annoy you too. How best do you enjoy them?

I have some about my DH too. But I need some time to compile. :bonkWill post mine soon.

There are a number of things I like in my DH..
To start with, I would go with his laugh. Occasionally he laughs in a double voice.. I do not know how best to describe it.. :bonk
All I know is that I liked that laughter from the day one I heard (I think during his phone call right after our engagement. He was not present for the engagement.)

And he laughs like that selectively (and spontaneously) so that serves as an indicator to me of his interest / involvement or mood - when he really enjoys the moment that husky double voice comes out and makes me fall in love with him all over again.

    Mannerism - What appeals:
    1. His calmness, even if the world is coming to an end.
    2. Non competitiveness... career, while speaking, watching TV or news.
    3. Extreme patience with children.
    4. I'll do it myself attitude if you're in a hurry & you cant do it today.
    5. Respecting elders & treating maids/helps as humans.
    6. He's good at salads & each time he takes to office he packs some for me too :thumbsup.
    Mannerism - What doesn't:
    1. His swearing on roads when people cut across.
    2. His swearings and cribbings about how his single city where he grew was far far better than any other place in this wold.
    3. Lately he picked up mumbling & swearing for me as his parents do & it really irritates me.
    4. His rationing on smile.
    5. Not even tasting the food of my like (we have a completly different set of foods that we can eat, I can still eat 90% of his choice even if I dont relish it, but he wont even touch).
    6. If my side folks wish him for special occasions he wont even say a THANKS.. well thats MARIJUANA (MIL) effect :crazy........

    What I love
    • He does not let me go to work without a Kiss.
    • He waits for me downstairs when I get home after him.
    • HE DOES NOT LET ME CUT ONIONS AS I GET TEARS in my eyes.
    • He will buy and cook non veg for me even though he is vegetarian.
    • He is not Stingy with his gifts..Gets flowers for all occassions.
    • Best of all treats me with respect.
What I don't like (Cant think of much)
    • he is naive about people sometimes.
    • too loyal and helpful.
    • Pesters me about buying gadgets that he never uses or uses for 6 months.

Guess the thread took a serious turn.. I was talking about the mannerisms yaar.. like you know shrugging the shoulder, smacking the lips, fiddling the hair, whistling a tune.. subtle things like that we do at times that may or may not appealing to the spouse..

    For example,
When my DH is not mentally present during a conversation, he will repeat my words. :bonk I like/dislike it depending on the matter I am (trying to) conversing.

When he does not agree (or angry), his jaws would clench slightly and I could see the jaw muscle twitch slightly. The wierd me likes it! :hide:

Things like that is what I was expecting to hear from you folks about your spouse.

    So Romantic, FL!

    That reminds me of something..
During the 1st year of marriage I tried to do some deep fry item and some hot oil sprayed on me accidentally. Nothing big.. just few drops of oil. Since then for many years to come, DH never allowed me to deep fry items. He will be the one making Bajji if we had to for potlucks/parties/snacks.
Just in the recent years, I regained my rights to deep fry in my kitchen. :) But I love to recall that & feel the warmth.

    Subtle mannerisms...

I cannot think of "subtle mannerisms" I like ...they are all come into the category of "Personality and Habits".

BUT the ones I DON'T like...

    - I love sharing gossips with my DH and during my sharing...sometimes his mind fades of..and then slowly it becomes nodding..then becomes silence and ..suddenly he comes back saying .."OH..is it?"

Uh..how I feel like choking him...

:rotflThis is what I was talking about.

Venonimiss, Our conversation will become 'repeat after me' sometimes.
    It goes something like this:
Me: Coffee kudikareengala? (Do you want coffee?)
DH: Coffee kudikareengala - va? (Do I want Coffee?! )

Me: sari.. coffee podaren. Mathiyam saapiteengala?
(Ok.. let me make coffee. Did you eat your lunch?)
DH: Mathiyam saapiteengala - va? (Did I eat my lunch?!)

Then I will know that my guy is still at work and his proxy just showed up at the kitchen. :biglaugh

    LOL!

I've done variation of this. She'll say "shall I make carrots for dinner today"?)" and I sometimes go (Yes), and then later on while eating - "Hey, (why did you cook this again today), and she'll say "(You shook your head like a boom-boom cow:)(lost in translation), now shut your mouth and eat", and I'll be like "(How do I eat with my mouth shut), she'll "Aiyo kadikaathai pls" (Pls. dont bite aka PJ - poor joke), and I go " (you gotta bite well to eat)...Rest you can imagine :bonk
