Hi all!
If this attempt of mine reminds you of the cat that stripes itself with a hot iron on seeing a tiger, dont laugh! I know this poem sounds like the stories that kids tell their moms!

The Love Yonder.

The car purrs along
The sea on the left looks mystical
The waves try to kiss the sky in a mighty heave
It's their way of telling me
That no matter how far you are
You will always be within my reach.
The sun is blushing and dipping in the west
Conceding defeat in matching the warmth
Of my feelings for you.
The road ahead appears endless
But driving is fun knowing you are waiting
At the end of my long drive.
The rainbow rising over the sea
Appears less colourful than my thoughts of you.
When love reigns supreme
The world looks as if it just had a shower
Dressed up and perfumed.
How else will you explain
The scent of a million flowers
Wafting through the air
At this time of the day?
The stars seem impatient
To put in their appearance
Not knowing they have no place in my heart
Being occupied by the star of all stars.

Sri,

Wow. Beautiful one. definitely nothing else looks beautiful or impressive when your loved one is your heart.

Thank you, Shanthi for being not only the first one to read my maiden attempt at poetry but give me your generous encouragement.

The infectitious bug has bitten me too!

See you in the dancing waves by the ocean
See you in the scorching heat of the summer sun
See you in the serenity of moonlit night
See you in the brilliance of twinkling stars
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
See you in the enticing smile of a new-born
See you in the impish grin of a toddler

See you in the breeze that soothes my face
See you in the wind that blows very fast

Call this hallucination, fantasy; whatever;
This is my inner world; that is the truth;
Plain and simple !

Tell me, Sri, how much you laughed on reading this "rambling" !
Love,
Chithra.

Dear Chithra
It is so interesting that you still retain something that you wrote in your college days. I have heard that girls always keep and cherish everything that reminds them of their childhood and youth but this takes the cake!
A good one indeed!

Dear Sudha
And how can I thank you for those nice words of yours? You seem to be bent on making me a Shelly or Byron but you dont know that I am a tough nut to crack. But I must confess that such words encourage me to blabber some more!
Dont you think mine is mature romance at its best?
Sri
