@KrishnaPriya3 Hello KP I am happy that this one tickled you. Laughter is the best medicine you know. But don't ask me for what! Sri
@Viswamitra Yes that was his major folly. If he had asked for it, he might have ended with just a dumb ostrich.
Dear Cheeniya sir, One has to be precise and clear while asking a genie or God... Except human beings.Because while asking human beings we have a doubt in one corner of mind that the wish may not be granted. But with Genei it is not so and the wish would be granted for sure. So when he asked for one with long legs etc.... That is somewhat ok but the second part is unreasonable in asking for one who nods and agrees with everything! Didn't he have an inkling thought it might be dumb and life would be boring! Syamala
@Adharv The more we analyse, the less we will understand. The key to happy life is to take everything at face value. I remember a quote: “I'm tired of being inside my head all the time. I want to live out here, with you.” And take this advise from a psychologist that not to get too deep, it leads to over thinking, and over thinking leads to problems that doesn't even exist in the first place.
@shyamala1234 My dear Syamala Absolutely true. When God appears before us and grants a boon, we get so excited and mixed up that we ask for the silliest of boons! Look at Khumbakarna. He goes into a very long penance for destruction of all Devas. When the Lord appeares before him, he becomes so excited that he gets mixed up. Instead of asking for Nirdevatvam he asked for Nidravatvam (Long sleep). The twisting of tongue at the crucial moment was caused by Devi Saraswathi. Getting a boon is easy. But asking for the right thing is itself a gift of God Sri
