The Guardian Angels narrates the story of the bond between Aditya Mehta and Radha Deodhar. They met as teenagers and continued to strengthen their bond over the next two decades. Love and friendship binds their fate together in such a way that over the years, instead of drifting apart, they only grow closer and closer. Their backgrounds are pole opposites just like them – yet it was their unspoken bond that saw them through each ups and downs of their lives.

In one sentence, this book tells the love story of the two protagonists – son of a billionaire and the daughter of a socialist. The first reaction may be – what’s new to that? There are millions of copies of love stories being sold all over the world and recently more so in the Indian market. Plus the rich guy and poor girl formula has been way overused in Bollywood. So what’s new, you may ask…

For starters, the protagonists – Adi and Radha. They are strong and loveable. They are ordinary and just two random faces in the crowd and that my friend actually makes them stand apart. While the protagonists of other stories are reaching out to the stars, seeing ghosts of their loved ones, finding love a second or third time and justifying their bond through sex on pages… Adi and Radha are one of us regular people with a bond that seems to be lost in this century. And I love that! In this commercial times where kissing and messing around have become the face of love and romance, they share a bond so pure and emotional that it cannot fail to touch your heart. The author’s writing style is refreshing too. He brings class to simple language that is easy to get into. He narrates the story so well, that by the time you turn the last page you are left wanting to know more about these two people who suddenly feel like they have been a part of your life for ages.

So really, well developed characters and excellent narration of an emotionally charged, well developed characters make this story a wonderful experience!
