Hi all, I got this forward to my email and thought i would share it with all of you. Vandhana, this is just "pramaadam" ! I am a great of fan of "mathematics" as a subject & love anything connected with maths. What you have posted is really very very interesting. I thank you for sharing it with us. Love & regards, Chithra.
Math is fun! Loved this Vandhana! Since Maths was my main subject, I would always do some google search to get some problems to make me not to forget any thing..Now a days forget everything when in no contact with them. so thanks for sharing,
Dear Vandhana, It was silmply superb. Although, im weak in maths,i just admired it. Keep posting some more mysteries about maths.Thanks. Take care ,bye. Nithya.
hello, very nice maths, maths i know only the spelling of maths:mrgreen:...but this quite interesting...thanx for ur post..:2thumbsup:
Dear Vandhana That sure was interesting! I am always fascinated with such problems in Maths...wonder who discovered this!!Must have been some brainy guy. Also Vivbass, just like your avatar,I feel you are rolling in laughter these days for everything.Good to see that.Your posts, these days, always make me smile.I can really see that you are enjoying every bit of your time here...Keep it up....way to go!
Dear Vandhana, Thanks for posting this. Mathematics is one of my favourite subjects too. The beauty of your post is that, this was discovered long long time ago by our Indian mathematicians and I came upon so many mathematics tricks like this in a book called "Vedic Mathematics". The tips and tricks given in that are really good esp. for student. Thanks for starting this thread, I look forward to contributing more from that book. Regards Vidya
A trick from vedic maths: To find the square of numbers: This is obtained by multiplying the no: by the same no: 25 * 25 = 625 Now, the squaes of 2 digit no:s with 1 or 9 as unit digit can be calculated very easily, By using addition or subtraction. Example 1: using addition: The rule is, if unit value is one more than the multiple of ten in the given no:, use addition. 61 *61 = (60+1) * (60+1) First square the ten digits. 60 * 60 = 3600 60 +61 =121 Now add both 3600 +121 = 3721 That is the square of 61 ! Example 2: using subtraction: If unit value is one less than the multiples of ten in the given number, then subtract. 89 * 89 = (90-1) * (90-1) 90 * 90 =8100 90 + 89 = 179 Now subtract 8100 – 179 =7921 That is the square off 89 ! Love, Chithra.
Namasthe Vandana , A very fine collection of beauty of math.I wish to get it recorded in Dairy to teach youngestars who are interested in Maths.Thank u very much for this contribution. Sd/sastry:goodidea:
