storing coconut in refrigerator.. Need tips

    i want to know whether we can dry roast coconut and refrigerate it for longer shelf life....

    Yes..I have done it..I used to make a powder of coconut with roasted chana dal and red chillies..This powder i used to store it in air tight containers and use it often for my sambar..I make it once in a week or 10 days

    You can do that....

    But generally I freeze the fresh coconut by making them into pieces (no roasting), and whenever I need either I defrost the pieces or leave it for 15 in hot water, then fresh coconut pieces are ready to use......

    I do the same like kcb. I just make the coconut into pieces and keep them in a zip lock bag. Whenever I need I just take the pieces and put them in water for sometime and use.

    Yes, you can surely freeze both dry and fresh grated coconut. I normally make ground masala paste with coconut , freeze them in ice trays. When it is set, remove the blocks of frozen coconut masala paste to freezer safe boxes.
