    Daal and Carrot kheer:
Cook daal and carrot. Puree and cook again with sugar, cardomom, and milk.

    My DD loves this kheer.

    Hi,

I am a new mom and my baby is 6 months old. My pediatrician told to introduce solids after completion of 6 months. I read the posts and came to know introducing rice cereal is the best one to start. Can i mix rice and pottu kadalai and make kanji for my baby?. Also is it enough to make kanji only with water? Do i need to add any sugar or salt? shall i go for Nestum rice or cerelac rice? Please help me.

Hi All, My baby is 4.25 months old and I think my feeding is not enough for him. He is always crying and sometimes he is not drinking from me. Kindly suggest which is best food that I can start with for him.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ooviya

Breast milk is the best food for babies until 6 months of age. Starting solids at 4 months doesn't make the child to sleep longer at night instead it makes them sick by affecting their immature digestive system

There are few other reasons you could delay starting solids until 6 months:

1.Decreases the risk of food allergies.
    2. Protects the babies from illness
    3. Gives the digestive system time to mature.
    4. Helps to protect baby from future obesity( esp formula fed babies are prone for obesity)
    5. Starting solids at 4 months makes them a fussy eater later on.

And the baby should also be ready for the solids, cues are:

    1. Babies should hold their head up well and able to sit with support.
    2. They show interest in others eating around them.
    3. Seems hungry after the feed
    4. Not sleeping properly at night, whereas before slept through with no problem.

    Jay
