    Dear Chitra ma,

Very happy to hear about appa. This is the first time I'm hearing about him. Also I haven't met you & appa yet. I liked the way to give him coffee. to my surpirse I even give Jagan his dosai the same way. "sir, your dosai si ready...". He never drinks coffee or tea.

I enjoyed reading it. It is so wonderful to look back our good (g)old days. And on thinking we laugh by oursleves. Nice ma.

The highlighted phrase explains your statement!!:idea

Shan, I am sure HE would have been the same, if he had married Ms A, Ms B or Ms C

    Dear Sir,
    Thanks for coming here!:bowdown
I beg to differ with you - a child living in the US cannot follow Indian values - she might get confused & forget to say 'thankyou' to her peers there. It might land her in problem

For your last line, we never have a ." contractions" for the spouse.
In many our households it is
    Mama a la Khushbu style
    Athaan a la Savithri style
    Aenna a la, tambram style!!

nowadays a lot of appa's..too..(I know because somebody made fun of X is he your husband /appa.). Maybe say better half/bitter half according to personal preference??:hide:
Mam, Here i am trying to think about couples in general. Because I have a person at home who does not mind saying sorry/thank you frequently actually in our case it started as an exercise to teach children, and it has become an habit. i know Vish sir would have been the same..that is his nature.

    Rama,
I really don't know if I have figured it out , as you write or have interpreted it so, for my own pleasure!!
    Believe me, you have mentioned

love and affection and have a lot of expression hiding :)

Unless they are ever revealed to me, how do I go about??:spin Do I interpret thankyou & sorry suitably & please myself??
But living with him for 50+yrs, God should grant me the presence of mind to say 'thankyou' to him before my exit!!
