    Dear ILites,

Thank you so much for your appreciation. As it is my first creation I was eagerly waiting for your replies. All your words gave me much more confidence to do more craft works.

Both ganesha's are made out of soap..The cradle and the base are made out of newspapers.I will post the procedure soon.

Once again than you so much for all your encouragement.

    Cheers,
    Annam.

    Hi Friends,

Here is the procedure for making ganesha.

    Material Required for Ganeshji:

    Soap
    Cornflour
    Fevicol

    Procedure:

1.Grate soap and dry it under sun for 1 hour.

2.Add grated soap with cornflour (Ratio 3:1).
Grind in mixer till you get soft powder.

3.Slowly add fevicol to this powder till it form a smooth and soft dough.

4.This is the base for any work.Take a small part of dough and roll it into small circle.(To avoid stickiness apply petroleum jelly in your hand).Make ganeshji's face out of this small circle.

5.Take the dough and roll it into oval shape so that it forms like a horizontal "S".This will be the trunk.

6.For Ganeshji's body, take a big circle, make oval shape and lightly press it.Attach this body to the face.As face and body are in moisture state it will be easy for you to stick together. If it doesnt use fevicol to stick.

7.For hands and legs, make oval shape and lightly bend it..attach this to the body.

8.After fixing all the parts allow it to dry for 8 hours. When it is completely dried up,use fabric paints to colour it and decorate the Ganeshji.Even you can leave it as it is,that will also give good look.

Hope I have made it clear..If you have any doubts pls lemme know.

    Cheers,
    Annam.

hey thanks for sharing the procedure. It is similar to the soap flowers in another thread.

Your idea of making Ganeshji has given a bigger spectrum for the soap craft. Thanks a lot.
