Small things, Big Happiness :)

Small things, sometimes, become a reason of big happiness and a life long memory!

Well, I enjoyed the childhood of my elder son and now it is really the fun enjoying the happy and cherishing moments with my daughter.

We do several small things in a day and all those things make us laugh incessantly. I am sure, such things with parent(s) does add high self esteem in the kids. As it is not only about those small acts, ever lasting memory or fun but it is also about the time and love that parent(s) like to spend with their kids.

So yesterday was one more 'additional' day of fun and frolic with my 3 years old daughter and an intense joy of my parenting. Lavanya is very girlish. She likes cosmetics and ornaments very much (most of the things are not allowed to her yet). We had bought some beads and made a bracelet out of those beads. Lavanya adored that bracelet and enjoyed wearing and playing with that for hours and hours.

Further, we made angry face, happy face, surprised face, sad face, etc. and laughed a lot on seeing our faces in the mirror! It is not only about the fun that we get by making different faces but it is also a good learning lesson for the kids. They learn and identify different feelings which later helps them to communicate how they feel. Being able to communicate the feelings also adds in the self esteem of the kids.

Moreover, We lined different things (toys, utensils, books, clothes, etc.) at home.I do cleaning home every day but sometimes, it is fun to create the mess in the home with kids.:rotfl

Kids always teach to enjoy big happiness on small things. Isn't it also the truth that the precious moments could not be bought, they have to be created

Precious moments are around us all the time and knowing to recognize them is a great art. It is like the Grace of the Lord that is constantly flowing to every being in this world and only limitation is for the beings to be prepared to receive that Grace through sublime and noble thoughts and actions.

I carry a strong impression that children know how to pursue happiness and they don't sweat over the small stuff as much as the adults do. They are constantly learning to find activities that optimize their happiness. Therefore, spending time with children automatically gives happiness to the adults. That is why the learned say, "While we have to use discrimination faculty before all our actions, we need to learn to conduct our life as simple as children do. I am yet to see a person who is not happy spending time with the children.

The children do not have discrimination power as much as the adults do but at the same time, they have a better determination to pursue happiness than the adults.

I like your thought of asking them to do various faces and ask them how they feel after they do each face. It is a great way for them to learn what behavior provides the children more happiness.

I used to do one activity every night with my son when he was young. I told him a story every day in which a young boy did something remarkable that helped one or more fellow being(s). At the end of the story, I always ask him, What is the name of the young boy?" He would proudly answer, "His name is Prashanth". These stories made him learn every day that helping other beings provides immense happiness.

Okay, so your son's name is Prashanth. Nice to know that. I read the story to my young girl but forget to ask about the moral lesson. I would not miss to do that any more. Thank you for this. It would help.
