Re: Devi mahatmiyam dear lata, now this is great, we have plenty of people doing bible reading and praying and half the time our hindu crowd do not do these things fearing the language of sanskrit which they say in the scriptures should be pronounced correct other wise there would be a negative feed back. now with this hinduisim is being popularised and most people will enjoy this slokam being told in the house, if the group take it upon themselves to explain in the simple language of tamil and english they would be furthering their contribution to this cause...sunkan

Devi Bhagavatham Hello to all spritual members....!!! Can any one tell me if Devi bhavatham is available for download.I think it has 700 or 800 verses.More over can Chandi homam conducted in homes? Who are the specialists in Devi bhavatham? I will appreciate if some one can throw lights on this subject>>>!!! Regards, Pammor.
Re: Devi Bhavatham Dear Pammor Sir, Are you referring to Devi Bhagavatham Or Devi Mahathmiyam ? The former is one of the major Puranas. The latter is "Glory of the Goddess", a Hindu scripture written in Sanskrit by Markandeya Rishi as part of the Markandeya Purana. That has 700 verses in 13 chapters and is chanted for Chandi Homam. Devi upasakas are authorised to perform Chandi Homam. It can be done in houses, subject to space ! Regards, Chithra.
